Literature Review Spatial Prediction

چکیده
This paper identifies the need for politicians, planners and social scientist to be provided the tools to clarify and manipulate spatial distributions to predict future developments. Bayesian statistics offers a way to estimate values of a variable at locations that are not sampled. The paper tries to address a case where Tobler’s law is not applicable. They are using Marcov Chain Monte Carlo analysis to develop better model based on probability distributions. and This paper considers two versions of the Bayesian variant of a flexible semi-parametric model (a mixture of experts). This consists of a gate model which divides the problem into regions of local models called expert predicts. The expert predict is responsible for providing the output. The two methods involve either providing an input variable to a single expert or to multiple experts. These two Bayesian inference models were tested using real geographic data. The results show that both Bayesian models were able to capture stochastic relation in spatial data. The multivariable approach was able to identified nonlinearities not evident from the single dimensional approach. There were no comparisons of performance or memory usage offered by this paper. The experiments didn’t involve high dimensional dataset which could be a concern. They tried to long term predict illness based on Manchester, UK census data.

Protein Secondary Structure Prediction: a Literature Review with Focus on Machine Learning Approaches
DNA sequence, containing all genetic traits is not a functional entity. Instead, it transfers to protein sequences by transcription and translation processes. This protein sequence takes on a 3D structure later, which is a functional unit and can manage biological interactions using the information encoded in DNA. Every life process one can figure is undertaken by proteins with specific functio...
متن کاملSpatial Segregation in Demography: A Short Review
Abstract. Spatial has always been an inherent component of demography, and demographic processes are inherently spatiotemporal. Recognizing the importance of spatial in general and spatial segregation in particular in demographic analysis has created new positions in demography and its conceptual and analytical frameworks. The notion of spatial segregation refers to the distribution of social...
متن کاملTheoretical review and Planning process of the Relation between Environment, Spatial Justice and Urban Governance
The concept of spatial justice has been widely employed in the recent literature that attempts to deal with concepts and practices of justice from a geographical perspective. However, the concept of spatial justice needs to be recast. Spatial justice could be the most radical offspring of law’s ‘spatial turn’. Spatial justice is arguably the most promising platform on which to redefine, not o...
متن کاملSensitivity Analysis of Spatial Sampling Designs for Optimal Prediction
In spatial statistic, the data analyzed which is correlated and this correlation is due to their locations in the studied region. Such correlation that is related to distance between observations is called spatial correlation. Usually in spatial data analysis, the prediction of the amount of uncertain quantity in arbitrary 4locations of the area is considered according to attained observations ...
متن کاملThe Madden Julian Oscillation A Literature Review
The literature survey reviews our present understanding of the Madden Julian Oscillation. This perturbation to the circulation of the tropical atmosphere involves anomalies in climate elements such as pressure, wind, outgoing long wave radiation, and temperature. It is successfully simulated by the present generation of general climate and atmospheric general circulation models. The literature ...
